saved portable or songbook will not open on another computer

My operating system is Mac. Neither the saved portable or saved songbook will open on another computer. When editing mssw files I saved them in a new folder but if I try to open the songbook or portable it cannot find the mssw songs in this new folder but looks for the mssw songs in the first original folder. For this particular project I had to have a few folders saving all the songs in a few different ways. Why does songbook or the portable need the 1st folder to access the mssw files?
